PROUD ACHIEVEMENT! HIBS JUNIOR HIGH STUDENT’S WORK SELECTED AS ONE OF SEMARANG’S TOP 50 Semarang

Exciting news comes from SMP Hikma International Boarding School (HIKMA IBS). Alexandria Zaheen M. E., a seventh-grade student affectionately known as Alexa, has achieved an outstanding accomplishment at the city level.

Alexa’s short story was selected as one of the Top 50 Best Works in the Semarang City Junior High School Short Story Writing Competition, organized by the Semarang City Archives and Library Office in September 2026. This remarkable achievement earned her story a place in the published short story anthology titled “Kampungku” (My Village).

The competition is considered a prestigious literary event, attended by hundreds of students from various junior high schools across Semarang. From all submitted manuscripts, the jury selected only 50 works to be published in the anthology. Alexa’s story successfully passed the strict curation process and was recognized for its strong idea, engaging storyline, and meaningful moral message that aligned beautifully with the theme “Kampungku.”

This accomplishment reflects that HIKMA IBS students excel not only in religious and academic studies but also demonstrate exceptional talent in literacy and creativity. The school consistently fosters a strong reading and writing culture through its School Literacy Movement, writing clubs, and intensive coaching programs for students with special talents.
